Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was forced to place Angelica Hale on ECMO Life-Support because she needed life-saving medical intervention. Her organs failed in multiple ways, and her kidneys did not recover. The rest of her life was a new routine of hemodialysis and peritoneal dilution. For the eighteen days she spent in the Hospital, the life of her was changed for the better. Angelica was being on dialysis for the past year and a half before she was finally ready to undergo the most important surgery of her entire life: a transplant of the kidney. The mother of Angelica was the donor. Angelica and her mother had the surgery to remove their kidneys successfully on September 13, 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals that are located next to one. Angelica Hale, a young girl from Atlanta who has always wanted to be an actress and a singer, is still pursuing the dream.
